This is a disgraceful situation ans brings dishonor to those who voted agaionst it. Maryland is a stalwart of open meetings. There are no excuses for not broadcasting these sessions - it's more hypocrisy from insincere politicians, regardless of their stripe.

Mr. Rothschild, you are full of lies on this one as usual. Try actually reading the AG’s opinion full on this matter and you will see that it says that if the County Custodian of Records feels that real harm can come to individuals by the release of their names and e addresses, the County has legal relief by appealing it in Circuit Court.
The public has every right to know who you are communicating with via e mail because the public has a right to know what’s going on inside its government. The MD PIA is based on citizen’s right to know what is going on inside their government. In your case that may mean the public may want to know if you are operating your office in an inappropriate manner, for instance using it as a political campaign headquarters with the assistance of your staff and the County communications network.
Once again you have lied about the release of names & addresses under a PIA. None were published for nefarious reasons; in fact I dare you to offer proof that any were ever published. Your postulation that some so-called internet expert testified that the release of e addresses could be a security breach for those individuals doesn’t hold water. For your own sake, I hope you aren’t foolish enough to use your e mail address to access your bank accounts, brokerage accounts or health records. That’s what passwords and ID numbers are for.

The President may have had an off night performance - wise but at least he didn't pull major mistakes like Romney did with promises he can't produce on and telling the PBS audience that the show was broadcast on that he would pull the finding for PBS if elected. Romney is both gaff-prone and detached from reality.

Some years ago there there was a replica of the Stateue of Liberty at Cal Bittner's Restaurant on Rt. 140. It was removed when Cal moved his operation up the road to Baltimore County and it's just as well because that image would certainly be out of place today with the narrow-minded politics exhibited by these Commissioners. Regardless of how they try to rationalize and legitimize this ordinance it clearly sends a message to everyone that you are welcome here only if you are an Anglo Caucasian and are unwilling to accept any change in the population.
The County might as well add an addendum beneath each of the so-called welcome signs on Routes 26 and 140 that reads, "White and Right".

If Haven Shoemaker is so darned tired of pushing the #2 on his phone for English he should write an ordinance to make it illegal to so in the County. That is NOT what this stupid, bigoted ordinance does and he knows it. This draft ordinance is just a place for him and his Caucasian Commissioner buddies to mount a political soap box and play footsie with their wing-nutty intolerant friends.
This law will be an embarrassment to Carroll that will permanently mar the county’s reputation and taint the honor of every person that lives or works here.
These five arrogant, bitter, bigoted Commissioners were not elected to pass dumb laws that do nothing but appease their political whims. The ordinance should be scrapped before it goes any further and if these Commissioners think the Citizens of Carroll want a law that makes English the official language in Carroll then they should have the courage to put it on a referendum ballot so the citizens can choose what image they want their community to portray.

This sort of horrible accident is no stranger to this stretch of MD Rt 140. How many more serious accidents will it take before SHA realizes that this stretch of Rt. 140 needs to lose the suicide lane and be replaced with a traffic controlled median?

I am very thankful for the non-stop work done by BGE's employees and sub-contractors in this very hot weather and for having friends who lent us a generator to keep our refrigerator running for the 4 days we were without electric, which also shut down our well / pump - and for the friends we have that allowed us to shower at their home and use it for a respite from our house that had reached 85 degrees inside.
There certainly were times when we asked "why us?" when we saw power restored for homes only a few hundred yards away but many in my neighborhood and myself are lucky considering the incredible damage seen in Baltimore & Washington DC.
No, we weren't prepared for an emergency of this magnitude but we'll try to be for another in the future.
Thanks again to the line workers and arborists who worked tirelessly to return us to normal as soon as they could.
