I've been here a number of times now in my few weeks in Hyattsville. As far as a social hub, it can't be beat. You have to love how the Howard Zinn room is becoming a major cultural hub.

On to the food: the portions are generous. Perhaps too much so. Is that possible? I have never been able to finish a full sandwich or burger there. I really like the Reuben, but keep napkins handy because it's sloppy. Get the home fried chips, too.

I do get the nagging sensation that they really want me to eat some veggies. Many of the menu items are heavy on the green stuff.

The atmosphere can be a bit loud. That doesn't bother me, but I've heard a few residents-of-a-certain age complain about the "noise". And quite frankly, if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, you're foolish to choose a lounge/bar/art store/performance space to begin with.

Ate here for the first time today. I found the staff to be helpful and responsive. I ordered a basic roast beef sandwich, nothing too complicated, but it tasted pretty good and hit the spot.
