On the Blog Post Blacks Schooled to Stay in a Daze

Right, but this article is based on assertions that aren't really fair.
"He is light skinned, has no connection with the Black community, Ivy League educated, and seems very uncomfortable around Blacks who are not part of the bourgeoisie."
Really? When did he seem that way that he wasn't comfortable around them? The author does not bother to say. Just that it happened some time.
"These Blacks have not once criticized the Obama administration’s lack of action in regards to the issues of particular concern to the Black community."
Indeed, and I see Congress, who is actually elected to solve these problems, has done just as much. What is the point of criticizing elite blacks when congress has refused to focus on this? Is it the obligation of only blacks to care about black issues in this country?
"These Blacks rationalize that Obama can’t afford to be seen doing anything specifically for Blacks for fear that Obama will be called a Black president."
Which of these? Where did they say this? We don't know because he quotes no one. So we really don't know at all if this is something they said, or if this is just a strawman.

Can you explain why you believe extra taxes will be required for a later start time?

On the article Death Penalty Proponents Push for 2014 Referendum

"Innocence projects are far less likely to scrutinize the evidence for someone given life (or a long sentence), so the probability of a successful appeal is much smaller."
If that were the case, then why would, as has been stated earlier in this very thread, the number of people exonerated through the innocence project that spent time on Death Row be only 18 of 306? If they were only focusing on Death Row cases then how did they find the time for all those other cases where people were not on Death Row?
"18 of the 306 people exonerated through DNA served time on death row. Another 16 were charged with capital crimes but not sentenced to death." Source: http://www.innocenceproject.org/Content/DNA_Exonerations_Nationwide.php

"Maybe if we just fixed the program instead of getting rid of it, that might be better."
The point is that "fixing" it requires never wrongly convicting someone. That is a very hard thing to simply fix.

"Let's try to focus on the victims folks!"
By victims do you mean "People who were wrongly convicted and put to death before they could be exonerated?" Because if so then the innocence project is in fact doing what you ask and focusing on victims.

Reply"who couldn’t imagine what I was waiting for, it being very unusual in the DC area for a car to wait for a pedestrian."
I think you're hating on the dc area unnecessarily. I walk around too and cars will wait for me. It's really not anything about this area but more about individual drivers (some people are nice, some people are ).
That said, I agree with your general argument, though most cities keep tabs on things like number of accidents and where so they can make decisions about traffic regulations. I would guess that if a traffic light was needed then it would exist, but really only the county could answer that. Perhaps patch could get a comment from a county official?

To further Jag's point, check out:

"A few days ago I received an unsollicited phonecall from a Real Estate Agent asking me if I knew of any Homeowner in Bethesda that was considering puting her/his home on the market. He was hoping that I could refer such a person to him so that he could get the listing. The Real Estate Agent also mentioned that the inventory for Bethesda homes on the market is quite low. Well, it appears that the present market for Bethesda homes is a seller's market."
Cold calls trying to find people to sell indicates that no one is leaving.

And one more...
"Yet, he ignores the very issues that gave birth to the Hip-Hop nation—police brutality, Black on Black crime, teenage pregnancy, the glorification of the drug culture, etc."
Obamacare addresses teenage pregnancy directly: http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2012/10/04/obamacare-simulation-cuts-teen-pregnancy-rates-80-percent
As for the glorification of drug culture, it is hard to argue that suppressing marijuana distribution is ignoring that: http://www.alternet.org/story/152666/is_obama%27s_drug_policy_worse_than_bush%27s_the_war_on_medical_marijuana_escalates
And to police brutality, did he not get involved with this? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/30/beer-summit-begins-obama-_n_248254.html
