ReplyI'm pretty sure that many of the "problems" that have been brought to the surface here are related more to terrible food that is being produced with massive amounts of un proven chemicals that are not natural. GMO filler foods keep kids awake and drowsy, while at the same time fatten them up....the real problem as I see it stems from very poor nutrition practice ...junk food / processed food that contains the same growth hormones used to fatten up, and keep passive farm animals that are bred in high volume for human consumption....school start times can be used as an illusion to acquire government funding for these types of study...but the bottom line lays with the food that is put into the mouths of our students..
Please WAKE UP to this very real fact in order to address education issues of today.... -

Don't make foolish comments woodbine5...I'm suggesting that the real problem is not being addressed as responsibly as the perceived problem with student healthy sleep needs...

ReplyThe time school starts really makes no difference if the students are not getting the proper balance of good nutrition from the foods that they eat....Fix the diet..fix the real problem. Junk food, including all processed foods that are bought at most grocery stores are the problem. Convenience prevails over health with most students...sleep patterns are directly related to diet...much more so than school start times.

The Constitution is the highest law of the land.. despite the constant attempts of corrupt government to diminish it's importance. The Sherriff and States Attorney have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution first. Laws created in violation of the highest law of the land are non-laws...the actions of the Commissioners are correct, it is their responsibility as elected public servants to stand firm in protection of our Constitution...they swore the same oath to protect it.
What is so hard to understand about this ? -

I was hoping to see something from Patch reporter's regarding the event....the Sun article seemed to lay out the results rather clearly...

Great point about the fact of less physical activity George...school start times rank down the list of reality no matter the government funded study results...scientific or otherwise...common sense trumps the studies..
