Range—celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio's newest restaurant—opened on Dec. 18 in the newly renovated Chevy Chase Pavilion. Range's menu is meat-centric, offering menu items such as potted foie gras, rabbit, scrapple, pork shanks and cheeks, beef marrow bones, veal heart, veal sweetbreads and whole roasted rabbit, "hunter style." Shellfish options include oysters, shrimp, crabs and lobster. Fish dishes include rockfish and black cod with barbecued hazelnuts. Dishes are prepared in the restaurant's open kitchen. Eater DC reports that the restaurant's pizza chef is Edan MacQuaid, who has made pizzas at Local 16, Graffiato, Pizzeria Orso, Red Rocks, Ardeo + Bardeo, 2Amys and Pizzeria Paradiso.
Range isn't all about meat. It's got good pizza covered, too. Eater DC reported that the restaurant's pizza chef is Edan MacQuaid, "who most recently made pies at Local 16 [1602 U St. NW, Washington, DC] and has worked in just about every popular pizza joint in town," Eater DC added. "An Eater writer spotted the cook at [Range] ... over the weekend and confirmed the move," Eater DC added. Celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio's latest restaurant—once slated to open in mid-September—likely will open in a few weeks at the Chevy Chase Pavilion.
Good news for fans of celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio: His much-anticipated new restaurant Range could be opening in just a few weeks in Friendship Heights, The Washington Post reported. While the restaurant's opening date is not yet set, patrons may reserve a spot for a "pop-in preview" on Dec. 15, 16 or 17, The Post reported. (Make reservations via the restaurant's website.) The restaurant once was scheduled to open in mid-September, but that date was pushed back to mid-November, Voltaggio’s publicist Melissa McCart told Bethesda Magazine in August.
