Is the apocalypse coming? Are you ready?

  In 1999, tales of the “Y2K” bug sounded the doomsday alarm and people took rock legend Prince’s anthem “1999” to heart on Dec. 31, 1999: They say two thousand zero zero party over, oops out of time. So tonight I’m gonna party like its nineteen ninety-nine. When people awoke on Jan. 1, 2000, most computers were running just fine and the world kept turning. Now, stories of the impending apocalypse (Dec. 21, 2012, according to some interpretations of the Mayan calendar) are rampant, even with reputable organizations like NASA debunking many of the most common apocalyptic theories.
