Free shuttle buses will replace Red Line trains this weekend between the NoMa-Gallaudet and Takoma stations "for ongoing platform reconstruction, communication system improvements, rail renewal and DDOT bridge work," according to Metro's website. The work will start at 10 p.m. on Friday, March 1, and will continue through closing time on Sunday, March 3. During that time, three stations will be closed: Rhode Island Avenue, Brookland and Fort Totten. This weekend, "there will be no scheduled track work on the Red, Orange, Blue or Yellow lines. The only planned work will take place on the Green Line, and will only affect customers traveling to or from Greenbelt Station," Metro added. Why don't they just do this crap in off peak times...like over night? They are paid enough. They cause an economic impact by doing this crap over the weekend when most of the burbers would actually like to go in to town. I can be damn sure there are people that would do this work from 12 am - 8 am. more ›
