Arne Duncan, Kathleen Sebelius to Visit Takoma Park Elementary School
The U.S. Secretary of Education and the Secretary of Health and Human Services will talk with children and teachers at Rolling Terrace Elementary School Friday morning.
President Barack Obama wants universal preschool, and his Cabinet members are doing their part to support him. The U.S. secretary of education and secretary of health and human services will talk about early childhood education at Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Takoma Park Friday morning, according to a statement from Montgomery County Public Schools. Secretaries Arne Duncan and Kathleen Sebelius will visit preschool and Head Start classrooms. Montgomery County Board of Education President Christopher Barclay and MCPS Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will also be in attendance.

Why is MCPS in the process of eliminating school based preschool services for preschoolers with disabilities? They are changing the model to itinerant based services. Perhaps the county council needs to investigate this issue further. MCPS cant extol preschool for poor kids while simultaneously eliminating it for kids with disabilities!
