Metrorail News: Red Line Weekend Track Work

Single tracking will take place in two work zones on the Red Line during the weekend of June 29 through July 1. Passengers will be allowed to drink water on the trains through July 2.

  Single tracking returns to the Red Line in two locations this weekend from 10 p.m. on Friday, June 29, through closing on Sunday, July 1: "Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Glenmont and Shady Grove. Customers should allow 10 minutes of additional travel time," Metro reported on its website. "On Saturday and Sunday, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., additional trains will operate between Medical Center and Judiciary Square, providing service every 10 minutes between these stations," Metro's website added. Noisy Repairs Come to Takoma Metro for Next Eight Months

Workers will be repairing platforms.

If you live near the Takoma Metro, things could be getting noisy for the next eight months, according to a Takoma Park Police news release. Metro workers will be replacing tiles and repairing platforms at the station. The work will be happening from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., police said. Resident Robbed on Maple Ave

Police are looking for three suspects.

Takoma Park Police are looking for suspects in a strong armed robbery Wednesday. Around 8:41 p.m. police responded to the 7100 block of Maple Ave, near the Takoma Metro. The victim was walking home when she as accosted by three black males who assaulted her and took property, police said. The suspects then fled in a silver-colored Sedan driving toward Tulip Avenue, police said. The victim suffered a minor injury.
