Red Line Single Tracks in 2 Work Zones
Red Line trains will single track between Friendship Heights and Ven Ness, and between Rhode Island Avenue and Fort Totten so that scheduled track maintenance can take place along the lines.
This weekend, Red Line trains will single track through two work zones, according to Metro's website: Throughout the weekend, trains running between Shady Grove and Glenmont will operate every 24 minutes, Metro reported. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, additional trains will operate between Van Ness and NoMa-Gallaudet, resulting in service about every 12 minutes between those stations, Metro added. Customers traveling through either work zone should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time, Metro advised. Learn more about scheduled track work on all Metro lines this weekend at Metro's website.
