SPEAK OUT: Rate the Redskins', Ravens' Week 1 Performance

The Redskins stunned the Saints in New Orleans, 40-32; the Ravens rolled over the Cincinnati Bengals at home on Monday Night Football.

Could week 1 have possibly gone any better for the two NFL teams separated by merely an hour on I-95? The Washington Redskins were road underdogs featuring a rookie, albeit highly-touted rookie, quarterback playing in a hostile environment against a former Super Bowl MVP quarterback. The Baltimore Ravens faced adversity of their own, missing the NFL's 2011 Defensive MVP, Terrell Suggs, and coping with the recent death of former owner Art Modell. Both teams passed week 1 tests with flying colors. The Redskins, led by No. 2 overall pick Robert Griffin III, stunned the New Orleans Saints, 40-32, at the Louisiana Superdome. I certainly had no expectation of that Sunday performance by the Redskins and really had considered the Saints a "lock" to win. It's a bit too early to lose perspective but the potential is exciting.   more ›

The Washington Redskins opened arguably the most anticipated training camp in the Dan Snyder era Thursday with fans awash in excitement for the official debut of new franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III.  As The Washington Post's Jason Reid put it: Forget about the [Redskins’] past two disappointing seasons under Coach Mike Shanahan.
