The case of Cynthia Gastelle, who went missing from Takoma Park in 1980, was ruled a homicide Wednesday after DNA matched remains found in 1982 in Prince William County, VA. So after 22 years the case has been reopened and police are seeking information in the homicide. But more than that, we want to know who Gastelle was as a person. The stories of her now are about what happened after she disappeared, but we'd like to build a portrait of the woman through stories about her from Takoma Park residents who knew her before she went missing.
