Pet Food Recalled After Potential Salmonella Contamination

Living Ruff is offering a credit for affected pet food.

Living Ruff, a Silver Spring-based pet store, sent out an advisory for a pet food recall Sunday. The advisory warns pet owners about a voluntary food recall from Diamond Pet Foods (DPF) between Dec. 9, 2011 and April 7, 2012 because of a possible salmonella contamination. Only pet food produced in their South Carolina plant is affected by this recall, according to the advisory. Diamond brands include: The brands recalled on Friday, May 4 have not tested positive for salmonella, according Diamond Pet Foods. Turn your bag over and check the production code numbers. If the code has a "2" or "3" in the 9th position and an "X" in the 10th or 11th position, your product is affected by the recall, according to Diamond Pet Recall. If the product …
