REPORT: Elmo Puppeteer’s Accuser Recants Accusation

Sheldon Stephen recanted his statement Wednesday.

The man behind the sexual accusation against Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, is retracting his statement, The Smoking Gun reported. Initially, Sheldon Stephen accused Clash of an underage sexual relationship, according to TSG. Clash went on leave from Sesame Street after the allegations surfaced. "In a statement released Tuesday, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania law firm--which no longer represents Stephens--reported that Stephens, “wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.” TMZ initially reported that the man claimed to have been 16 when his sexual relationship with Clash began." It's unclear when Clash will be returning from his leave of absence.
