Bonfire begins after 5 p.m. Friday, assistant farm manager Tyler Butler said.
It might not be too late to get a tree, but time’s running out if your tree shopping must include a warm bonfire. Butler’s Orchard in Germantown is hosting its final bonfire of the year on Friday. There will be plenty of marshmallows to go around, according to Tyler Butler, assistant farm manager. Butler said while it wasn't the first time the orchard has had bonfires, it was the first time they've offered up marshmallows. He said he hopes it becomes a new tradition and attracts people to the orchard on a Friday night. “We get so busy on weekends,” Butler said. “But some people say it’s the only time they can get out to the farm.” On Friday, the orchard will be open until 9:30 p.m. The bonfire begins after 5. Try one of the thrift or secondhand stores in Montgomery County for holiday gifts.
Have you ever regifted? You know, taken that unwanted desk adornment you got from your uncle last year and given it to a co-worker. In fact, regifting websites are cropping up all over the place, each with their own spin on the closeted practice. One site has proclaimed Dec. 20 as “National Regifting Day,” another has given prizes for the best regifting story and a third offers a “Gift Giver’s Guide to Gracious Regifting.” Even if you don’t have some unwanted gifts on the top shelf of …

The 2012 Official White House Christmas tree is an 18-foot-6-inch Fraser Fir from Jefferson, N.C. To continue this year's theme of service, many of the ornaments were created by military children living on U.S. Military Bases …

My very favourite Christmas tune of all time is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" as sung by the incomparable Bing Crosby in 1963. Written during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 and being released only a few days before the assassination of President Kennedy, that beautifully-crafted number struck a literal chord with the American people. It became a massive hit for Mr Crosby and is still being played …   more ›
