Update, June 19, 8 p.m.: The suspect in Tuesday's stabbing is described as a black male, in his 30's, approximately 5-foot-11 with a thin athletic build, dark complexion, short dark hair and stubble facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans and black shoes, according to Takoma Park Police Crime Analyst Andrew Gucciardo. Investigation continues under case #12030038. A 13-year-old girl is safe after refusing to give up her property to a man who robbed her with a sharp weapon, according to Takoma Park Police. Around 5:15 a.m. on May 21, the girl was walking home from school near Glenside Drive and Anne Street when she as accosted by a man who displayed a sharp weapon and demanded property, police said. The girl refused and the suspect slashed at her arms with the unknown weapon. The victim removed her backpack and began to swing it at the suspect knocking him down. While he was on the ground, the victim ran home where her parents called police. Investigation continues under case #12024530. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 301.270.1100.

Police are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery of Beau Nails on New Hampshire Avenue Friday, Takoma Park Police said. Around 3:08 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6900 block of New Hampshire for reports of an armed robbery. The victim reported that two black males fled the establishment armed with a shotgun and an AK47, police said. Both suspects entered the nail salon, produced guns and robbed several victims, police said. Suspect 1: Black male, 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, armed with a shotgun. Takoma Park Police are searching for three men who attempted to rob a man Wednesday evening in the 6400 block of 4th Avenue. Around 7:28 p.m. on Mar. 21, a man walking down 4th Avenue noticed a gray sedan following him, police said. Two suspects got out of the car and demanded property. Then the suspects assaulted the victim while trying to forcibly remove property from him, according to police. The victim flagged down a vehicle passing by and the suspects returned to their car and headed toward Eastern Avenue. The victim did not suffer any major physical injuries, police said. Two arrest warrants were issued in relation to a Jan. 28 armed robbery in the area of Walnut Avenue and Westmoreland Avenue and a Feb. 3 armed robbery on Hodges Lane. The warrants are for Keith Reed, 22, and Andre Scott Nureni, 21, both of Washington, D.C., for armed robbery, first degree assault, theft less than $100, reckless endangerment and conspiracy, Takoma Park Police said. Reed and Nureni are both currently being held in the D.C. jail pending extradition back to Montgomery County, police said. Takoma Park Police arrested a Ft. Washington man for the June armed robbery of Express Check Cash in the 1000 block of University Blvd., police said. William Louis Cole, 39, was charged with first degree assault, theft over $10,000, use of an armored ballistics vest during a crime of violence, false imprisonment and conspiracy to commit all offenses as charged above. On June 1, around 8 a.m., police responded to reports of a robbery at the Express Check Cash. Two unknown suspects had entered the business forced the victim to hand over property to them. A man walking to his parked car was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint early Saturday, according to Takoma Park Police. Police responded to the unit block of Lee Avenue at approximately 1:16 a.m. for reports of an armed robbery on Oct. 22. The man was approached by an unknown black male as he walked towards his car in the unit block of Lee Avenue, police said. The suspect, brandishing a black handgun, assaulted the man and demanded property, said police. A man walking home from the Takoma Park Metro narrowly escaped serious injury following an armed robbery on Hodges Lane late Friday. Takoma Park Police responded to Hodges Lane at Holly Avenue at approximately 9:31 p.m. on Oct. 14 for reports of a citizen armed robbery. A man was walking home from the Metro, and as he turned on to Hodges Lane from Holly Avenue, he was confronted by two suspects dressed in black wearing face masks, police said.
