Powerball Jackpot Climbs to Record $500 Million

The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing has climbed to a record $500 million after Saturday's drawing failed to produce a winner. The multi-jurisdictional lottery is played in 42 states—including Maryland and Virginia—plus Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game first arrived in the Old Line State in 2010.
