In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb, a Jazz Jam and Tagging a Speed Cam

Plus: All's fair in Gaithersburg and American pie in Takoma Park.

Happy Monday, Takoma Park! Here’s a look at some of the things you need to know to be in the know in and around town this week.

1. If You Liked Last Week’s Weather … :  Well, if you liked last week’s weather, I’m wondering about you. It was gross. But if mugginess, showers and thunderstorms are your thing, you’re going to love the first couple of days of this week. If they’re not, just wait. The National Weather Service says we’ll get over the hump with a beautiful day on Wednesday that could feel like early fall.

2. Pick ‘o the Week: Listen in or sit in with the Real Book Jazz Jam, just across the District line at Takoma Station from 7 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday. Find more details here.

3. ICYMI (In Case You Missed It): Someone vandalized a speed camera in Takoma Park earlier this month. Such an incident is nothing new.

4. Fair Enough: The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair continues through Saturday in Gaithersburg. Get the schedule—and the menu—here.

5. Coming Attractions: The Takoma Park Farmers Market is as American as baseball, mom and apple pie contests. Check it out every Sunday in Old Takoma and don’t miss the main event on Sept. 15.
