We Are Takoma Documentary Looks at Antarctica

The documentary is July 12 at 7 p.m.

The We Are Takoma series will be featuring a documentary about the journey through Antarctica.

On July 12, at 7 p.m. in the Takoma Park Auditorium, “Dancing in the Rays of the Antarctic Sun," a film about Antarctica with cinematography that captures the beauty and essence of a place where mountains meet the sea and the sun rises and sets in colors of brilliance.  

"The film also explores the joint experiences of the filmmakers and their slave ancestors during the Diaspora from Africa to the Americas in a personal way that directly connects them to the viewer," according to filmmakers Joy C. West, of Silver Spring and Laura Ward Holliday.
