Takoma Academy Star Commits to Virginia Tech

Desmond Stanback played shooting guard for Takoma Academy.

A Takoma Academy basketball player will be traveling south to become a Hokie.

Desmond Stanback has committed to play men's basketball at Virginia Tech, according to a Gazette story.

Stanback, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, chose Virginia Tech over Ohio and Virginia Commonwealth, according to the article.

Takoma Academy plays in the Maryland Independent School Athletic League.
