Starr to Launch Summer Meals at Rolling Terrace Elementary

The MCPS superintendent will be in Takoma Park Tuesday.

Takoma Park will get a visit from Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Joshua Starr this week.

Starr, along with Montgomery County Councilmember Valerie Ervin and Montgomery County Board of Education Vice President Christopher Barclay, will be visiting June 26 at noon to promote the county's Summer Food Service Program.

This summer, nearly 9,000 students will receive meals at 114 locations, including 10 walk-in locations where children 18 and under can come in for a free meal, according to MCPS.

A similar program in neighboring Prince George's County.

Last year, the program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, served more than 320,000 meals in the county, according to MCPS.
