Starr Announces Next Book Club

The superintendent will discuss The Global Achievement Gap.

Superintendent Joshua Starr will host his third book club event on April 24, discussing The Global Achievement Gap by Tony Wagner.

The discussion starts at 7 p.m. at the , and it will be broadcast on MCPS TV.

During the event, Starr will answer questions from members of the audience and from viewers at home via e-mail and Twitter, using the schools' @MCPS account.

This is the third and final book club event planned for the school year, and Starr has said that the discussions give him a chance to reach out to the schools' community, students and staff.

"The book clubs will provide a less formal way for us to have a conversation about education and will provide an opportunity for me to share some of my educational philosophy," Starr said in a statement. "I’m looking forward to a great conversation."

If you'd like to be in the audience for the discussion, RSVP to Pio@McpsMd.org.

You can watch video of the first two events on MCPS's website.
