Report: School Transfers May Get More Difficult

Deadline enforcement and reapplication for special programs part of proposal.

Don't like the school assigned to your kids based on where you live? A new proposal by the Montgomery County Board of Education's policy committee wants to enact new barriers to transfers, according to The Gazette.

The proposal would begin enforcing deadlines for transfers as well as forcing some students who are already attending special programs at out-of-neighborhood schools to reapply before moving on to the feeder program at another school, the newspaper reported.
