Five Takoma Park Middle School Student Win Writing Awards

The ceremony will be May 25.

Five Takoma Park Middle School students were honored for their creative writing by Friends of the Library Montgomery County, Montgomery County Public Libraries, Montgomery County Public Schools and the Writer’s Center, Ari Brooks, FOLMC executive director said.

Karina Chang, Mukund Patnaik and Jingjing Xu were winners and Yonatan Mengesha and Chimey Sonam were recognized as honorable mentions.

Twelve of the 38 middle schools in Montgomery County participated in the contest submitting 144 entries, Brooks said.

 The awards reception and ceremony will be held on May 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the second floor meeting room of the Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave.
