Climate Conversations with Artistic Director Cassie Meador

Join Dance Exchange Artistic Director Cassie Meador for an evening of informal conversations about the climate and other environmental issues we are facing today. Meador recently attended the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) in Durban, South Africa, and will discuss her experiences. The evening will also provide an opportunity to share some of the projects developing out of the work in Durban as well as screen selections from John D. Liu‘s new documentary, Rwanda- Emerging in a Changing Climate.  Meador will connect her findings from the experience abroad to the 500-mile walk she will take this spring to trace the sources of her home’s energy as research for a new stage work that will tackle issues of land and resource use. Meador will also share some of the other environmentally driven work at the Dance Exchange.  Special guest Moira Moynihan, environmental advisor of Maryland State Delegate Heather Mizeur, will join the evening and discuss how Delegate Mizeur is addressing such issues in the local community.

7-9pm. This is a free event!
