We Are the Romans....er Takoma: Professor Discusses the Roman Empire and Imperialism

Professor Arthur M. Eckstein will be presenting "Julius Caesar, Empire, and the Fall of the Roman Republic."

Eckstein will address how the political institutions of empires get corrupted imperial pressures.

Eckstein is Professor of History and Distinguished Scholar-Teacher at the University of Maryland.  He is the author of four books on the Ancient World and a co-edited book on American Culture, along with almost 60 scholarly articles ranging from human sacrifice at Rome to the economic thought of Lenin.
