Takoma to Get Mixed Use Development
The development will include ground floor retail space.
Just across the border in Takoma, residents will see a new mixed-use development built in a vacant lot at Carroll Avenue and Maple Street, according to a report in The Gazette.
The four-story, $36 million project will have feature 156 apartments and 8,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.
Ward 1 Councilman Seth Grimes said he’s encouraged because the building will include environmentally friendly features, and he doesn't think the retail space will hurt Old Takoma businesses, according to the Gazette story.
