Takoma Park Police Blotter: 12/30/11 - 1/5/12

Here's all the crime in Takoma Park.

There were no crimes reported by Takoma Park Police in Ward 1 and Ward 3 this past week. Wards 4, 5 and 6 did see some crime though.

Ward 3:

Robbery

6300 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Thursday, January 5 at 11:17 a.m., officers responded to a commercial robbery that just occurred. Three male suspects entered the business and Suspect #1 brandished a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspects took money and property before fleeing on foot. One suspect was later apprehended and taken into custody by MPD. The clerk suffered minor injuries.

Assault

6800 blk. of Westmoreland Ave., on Tuesday, January 3 at 10:19 p.m., officers responded to an assault that just occurred. A male victim was walking home from the Takoma Metro Station when he heard subjects running up from behind him. The victim began to run toward his residence when suspect #1 attempted to push and trip him. The victim was able to reach his residence and call police. The two suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Ward 4:

Larceny

7600 blk. of Maple Ave., on Monday, January 2 at 12:08 p.m., officers responded to an attempted theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to pry the vehicle door lock but were unsuccessful.


Auto Theft

7700 blk. of Maple Ave., on Monday, January 2 at 8:00, officers responded to an auto theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2002 Chrysler Voyager from a parking lot by unknown means.

Ward 5:

Larceny

700 blk. of Kennebec Ave., on Monday, January 2 at 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a theft that just occurred. A known female suspect removed property from a male and female victim after leaving the residence.

Ward 6:

Assault

7900 blk. of Kennewick Ave., on Monday, January 2 at 3:13 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress. A known male suspect assaulted a female victim during an argument that turned physical. The suspect fled the scene before units arrived.

Burglary

7100 blk. of 13th Ave., on Tuesday, January 3 at 9:27 a.m., three males 17, 16, and 16 were arrested for an attempted burglary and related charges.

Larceny from Auto

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Monday, January 2 at 10:55 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) drilled a hole in a vehicle gas tank and removed the gasoline.

Larceny

1200 blk. of Jackson Ave., on Friday, December 30 at 12:42 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) removed a victim’s HVAC system located outside of the residence.

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Friday, December 30 at 10:08 a.m., officers responded for a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) removed both license plates from a vehicle parking in a lot.
