Takoma Park Hosts Day of Halloween Events

There's activities for humans and canines alike.

Halloween in Takoma Park is chock full of fun things to do. So dress up yourself, or even your pet, and attend one of these downtown Takoma Park events.

Canine Costume Contest
Oct. 29, 3 p.m.
Takoma Park Community Center

Categories include cutest, scariest, funniest and most original with two
divisions: little dogs and big dogs. Dogs must be leashed and under
control by the handler.

Annual Costume Contest
Oct. 29, 5 p.m.
Intersection of Carroll and Laurel Avenues
Old Town Takoma Park

Categories include most original, funniest, and scariest.
Ages 2 and under; 3-4; 5-7; 8-10; 11-12; Teen and Adult and Overall
group category.

Halloween Parade
Oct. 29, Approximately 5:45 p.m.

Beginning at Carroll and Laurel Avenues, following Carroll Avenue to the Fire House, left on to Philadelphia Avenue and ending at Piney Branch Elementary School.

Piney Branch Elementary School, 7510 Maple Ave.

A musical performance by “RTT’s" is sponsored by the Recreation Department and refreshments will be served by the Lions Club.
