Takoma Park Discusses Waiving Nuclear Free Zone

Come out and speak up.

Could Takoma Park renege on its nuclear free promise?

The Takoma Park City Council has been asked to waive the Nuclear Free Zone Act to get HP computers for Takoma Park Library. The act "prohibits the granting of an award, contract or purchase order, directly or indirectly, to any nuclear weapons producer and prohibits purchase or lease of products produced by a nuclear weapons producer," according to the legislation.

The public will have their say, though.
