Takoma Park Council to Discuss Hospital Move

The council which figure out how to proceed since the hospital pull its application to move.

Washington Adventist Hospital recently pulled its application for permission to move its campus from Takoma Park to White Oak and the Takoma Park City Council will decided what the next step is at its regular council meeting Monday night at 7:30 p.m.

Washington Adventist Hospital withdrew its request to build a 48-acre campus in White Oak, but will rewrite and resubmit a new plan, President Joyce Newmyer announced Sept. 18.

Takoma Park wants to make sure it is part of the process as the hospital reevaluates its situation.

"The city has an interest in the future of WAH and WAH’s Takoma Park campus because WAH is an important source of health care services for City residents and because the future use of the 13-acre site will have wide ranging impacts on the surrounding neighborhoods and the City in general," according to city documents.
