Takoma Park Council Celebrates Ward 2 Night

The Takoma Park Council will celebrate Ward 2 night at Monday night's council meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Takoma Park Auditorium.

Residents of Ward 2 can bring questions and concerns to the council before the official council meeting, which starts at 8 p.m.

The council will also discuss the Ethan Allen Gateway Streetscape Project.

Three design alternatives have been developed for the Ethan Allen Gateway Streetscape, according to The New Ave website. They include:

• removing the the islands on the NW and SE corner
• removing the eastbound auxiliary lane
• adding a sidewalk on the north side of East West Highway
• providing a marked crosswalk at Red Top Road (contingent on a pedestrian study in September)

The primary differences between the three alternatives relate to traffic flow and lane configuration, according to The New Ave.
