SPEAK OUT: What do you want in a new City Manager?

Deputy city manager Suzanne Ludlow will take over on September 7, until the city's search is completed.

Recently, after her predecessor Barbara Matthews accepted a similar position in the city of Rockville.

Matthews will stay on in Takoma Park through September 7, with Ludlow taking the reins until the City’s search for a full-time replacement is completed.

According to a recent press release from the city:

Under Matthews’ leadership, the City's financial structure was strengthened, departmental service delivery was improved, crime in Takoma Park was reduced, and major investments in roads, facilities, and "green" infrastructure were made. During her tenure, the Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium and Public Works Facility were both renovated to high standards of environmental sustainability and solar panels were installed on several City facilities. Matthews also oversaw the implementation of the City’s speed camera program and the development of a plan for sidewalk improvements to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The city has invited qualified "Executive Search Firms" to submit proposals to assist the city in their search for a new city manager -  what do you want in a new City Manager?
