Signal at Sycamore and Ethan Allen to Be Reset

The change will come in early September.

After residents complained of the elapsed time from green to red at the light at Sycamore Avenue and Ethan Allen Avenue, Takoma Park Police have decided to reset the timers, City Crime Analyst Andrew Gucciardo said.

About a month ago the pavement detectors at the intersection were inoperable so police disabled them and set the signals on a timer, Gucciardo said. The department got numerous complaints about the timer and brought out surveyors who recommended 10 seconds of time between green and red.

Two repairs will be made in early September, Gucciardo said.
