The annual Takoma Park Safe Routes 5k is coming up Sunday so if you need to drive in the city, make sure not to get caught up in the action.
Road Closures on Race Day include:
- Maple Avenue between Philadelphia Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway from 7:50 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Sligo Creek Parkway will close at 8:00 a.m.
- Grant Avenue will be closed between the Community Center Parking lot and Maple Avenue for race festivities.
- There will be no parking on Maple Avenue between Philadelphia Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway and on Grant between the Community Center parking lot and Maple Avenue on Sunday morning from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
