Carroll Avenue has been shut down from Washington Adventist Hospital to Flower Avenue due to downed power line.
At around 2 p.m. Takoma Park Police saw power lines engulfed in flames in the 7600 block of Carroll Avenue. The lines were also charged and jumping from the poles.
Traffic is being diverted from east and west bound Flower Avenue on to north bound Carroll Avenue. PEPCO is on the scene replacing the power lines. The road way will reopened when the area is deemed safe, police said.
