National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory For Montgomery County

Today is also a code orange air alert.

The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. for the D.C. metro region. The National Weather Service expects the temperature high to be in the mid 90's and the heat index to reach 105 in the afternoon.

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) and the District Department of the Environment (DDOE) have issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert Wednesday for the D.C. Metro Area.  A Code Orange means that air pollution concentrations in the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups.
