The urban landscape in Bethesda and Chevy Chase is changing, and if you're curious to know about the developments on tap in your neighborhood, look no further.

The has launched an interactive map detailing up-and-coming projects in Bethesda's urban district, whether they're under construction, under review or approved and pending.

You've probably already noticed an uptick in construction in downtown Bethesda. Projects that have already broken ground include at the intersection of Woodmont and Bethesda avenues; , between St. Elmo and Fairmont Avenues, and the , on Auburn Avenue.

Michael how about you design your own building with an architect come up with the funding for and it then have it constructed. Oh wait its easier to complain.

Frank - Thanks for the feedback. We added Christ Lutheran - although they have not yet filed a development proposal, they did receive a zoning change. The preliminary approval for Auburn Ave. has lapsed and they would need to re-file. Rugby Condominiums project is transferring density to 4900 Fairmont, so that will project will soon be off the books too. However, 4823 Rugby is still valid, so we added that to the map.

Traffic and lack of parking are problematic enough in Bethesda. Who except the developers needs these "mixed-use projects?"

No complaints here, all this construction in and around Bethesda and Chevy Chase get's me excited. Yeah I do agree parking can get a little complicated. I try my best not to drive in and around Bethesda. I tend to walk 99% of the time.
