Council to Discuss Budget at Meeting Tonight

The budget includes four major funds: the general fund, the stormwater management fund, the special revenue fund and the speed camera fund.

The new fiscal year starts July 1 so that means it's budget season here in Takoma Park. The fiscal 2012 budget will be presented by City Manager Barbara Matthews and discussed at the Takoma Park City Council meeting Monday night.

The budget includes four major funds: the general fund, the stormwater management fund, the special revenue fund and the speed camera fund.

Matthews will recommended $24,540,487 for the fiscal 2012 budget. General Fund expenditures total $20,736,157. Combined expenditures for the other funds equal $3,804,330.

Combined revenues for all funds for fiscal year 2012 are projected to be $22,915,252. General Fund revenues equal $19,417,988. Revenues for the three other funds total $3,497,264.
