Council Continues to Work on Budget Tonight

There is still time for public comment.

The Takoma Park City Council have been hard at work debating what should be in the and tonight is no exception. The council will be looking at three parts of the proposed budget at 7:30 in the Takoma Park Community Center:

  • Housing and Community Development
  • Speed Camera Fund
  • Communications

The council has already begun to debate General Government, Public Works, Storm Water, Park and Recreation, Police and Library sections of the budget, but there is still time for public input.

  • April 25 - Public hearing where residents get to comment on how they'd like to see the proposed budget adjusted.
  • After the second public hearing on April 25 - The Council will start deciding how it might want to adjust the budget recommendations.  
  • May 16 - First reading of the budget ordinance.
  • May 23 - Second reading of the budget ordinance.

The council must act on the budget by May 27 to have it to Montgomery County by the May 31 deadline.
