Barrie Howard to Challenge Schultz for Ward 6 Takoma Park Council Seat

Ward 6 is one of two seats with challengers this election. Ward 2 also has two candidates.

The race for Ward 6 just got more interesting. Just when it in the Takoma Park City Council election this November, Barrie Howard came out to challenge Ward 6 Councilman Fred Schultz.

Schultz is the only sitting councilman being challenged. The other seats up for grabs, Wards 1, 2 and 3, are all being vacated by the current councilmembers.

Howard is positioning himself as the voice of the people for Ward 6. He wrote in an e-mail to Patch that his "platform is built upon principled leadership, listening and responding to citizens’ concerns, actively advocating on the behalf of Ward 6 residents, enabling change with recognizable results, and staying on top of the issues and reporting on these to constituents in a timely manner."
