Two Men and a Juvenile Charged in Flower Avenue Stabbing

The stabbing occurred Sunday evening in the 8600 block.

Two men and a juvenile were arrested for a stabbing Sunday, May 22,  that occurred in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, near the border of Takoma Park in Silver Spring, Montgomery County Police said.

James Edward Tomaski, age 20, of the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.  He is being held on $750,000 bond.

Chama Chisata, age 20, also of the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, police said. He posted $200,000 bond.

The name of the juvenile involved was not released by police.

The crime occurred Sunday evening before 5:35 p.m. police said, when one victim was walking to Universal Mart and was confronted by three individuals.  According to police, two of the men pulled out knives and attempted to stab the victim.  Another citizen intervened, and was stabbed three times.

The victim who was stabbed said he had been approached earlier in the day by the same three individuals and had been harassed and threatened by them. He told police he thought they had come back for him.
