Two Cars Stolen In Takoma Park on Thursday

Both cars were stolen Thursday morning.

Takoma Park Police responded to two reports of two auto thefts Thursday morning. Police believe the two thefts are related, Spokeswoman Cathy Plevy said.

At around 7:48 a.m. police got a call that a car was stolen in the 6800 block of Westmoreland Ave. sometime before 6 a.m. The stolen vehicle is a 1998 purple Dodge Caravan with Maryland tag #595AWR.

On the same date, at around 11:43 a.m., police responded to the 7700 block of Maple Ave. for reports of a stolen auto.  The victim parked her vehicle in the front lot at 10:36 a.m. and when she returned after a brief time, her vehicle was missing.  The stolen vehicle is a 1997 light blue Dodge Caravan with Maryland tag #28653M4, police said.
