Check out all the crime in Takoma Park this week.

This week in Takoma Park crime, Wards 4 and 5 were crime free, but Ward 2 was hit with six thefts from cars. Check out all the crime this week.

Ward 1:

  • Robbery - 7000 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 9:19 p.m.,officers responded to a robbery that just occurred. A female victim wasapproached by a male suspect while walking in the parking lot. Thesuspect demanded the victims’ purse and brandished a handgun. Thevictim complied and the suspect fled to an awaiting car. The victim was unharmed.
  • Larceny from Vehicle - 7100 blk. of Cedar Ave., on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) broke a vehicle window to gain entry and stole a GPS unit.

  • Larceny - 7000 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Wednesday, August 22 at 8:10 p.m.,officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) removed fire equipment from a storage room.

Ward 2:

  • Robbery - 1000 blk. of Larch Ave., on Thursday, August 23rd at 3:05 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that occurred earlier. A male victim was delivering newspapers when his vehicle broke down. While on the side of the road he was approached by a vehicle with two male suspects inside. One suspect exited the vehicle and offered to help the victim. The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. The victim was unharmed..

  • Assault - 6800 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Saturday, August 18th at 1:40 a.m., a male 33 was arrested for assaulting a female victim.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 600 blk. of Elm Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 6:04 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle, but did not steal any property.
  • Larceny from Vehicle - 400 blk. of Circle Ave., on Wednesday, August 23rd at 7:40 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and stole change.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 700 blk. of Devonshire Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 9:28 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle, but did not remove any property.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 1000 blk. of Heather Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into an unlocked car and stole a GPS unit.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 800 blk. of Elm Ave., on Thursday, August 23rd at 6:45 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle, but did not steal anything.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 1000 blk. of Elm Ave., on Thursday, August 23rd at 6:00 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS unit.
  • Larceny - 7600 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Wednesday, August 22nd at 9:08 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked office and stole computer equipment.

  • Residential Burglary - 7100 blk. of Sycamore Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 9:37 p.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) removed a screen and opened an unlocked window to gain entry to a residence. Once inside the suspect(s) removed property and fled in an unknown direction.

 

  • Residential Burglary - 400 blk. of Elm Ave., on Sunday, August 19th at 12:57 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victims’ residence by unknown means while they were on vacation and removed property.
  • Residential Burglary - 7400 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 9:19 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that just occurred. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a residence by removing a window screen. Once inside an alarm was activated and the suspect(s) fled in an unknown direction. No property was taken.

 

  • Larceny from Vehicle - 6700 blk. of Poplar Ave., on Wednesday, August 22nd at 7:04 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to an unlocked vehicle, but did not steal any property.

Ward 6:

  • Robbery - 7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Monday, August 20th at 11:19 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that just occurred. A female employee was approached by a male suspect in the business parking lot. The suspect brandished a handgun and forced the victim back into the business. Once inside the office the suspect removed money and then fled in an unknown direction. The victim was unharmed.

 

  • 7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Friday, August 17th at 8:14 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that occurred earlier. The male victim was walking to his car when he was approached by a vehicle with three suspects inside. The suspects asked the victim if he would like to buy items in his possession. The victim agreed and began to pull his wallet from his pocket. The suspect then produced a knife and grabbed the victim’s wallet. The suspects then fled in the vehicle on New Hampshire Avenue. The victim was unharmed.

 

  • Assault - 1300 blk. of University Blvd., on Saturday, August 18th at 10:36 p.m., officers responded to an assault that just occurred. An unknown male suspect became agitated inside a store and threatened an employee with a knife. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The employee was unharmed.

 

  • Residential Burglary - 7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Saturday, August 18th at 12:09 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into an unlocked apartment and stole property.

 

  • Residential Burglary - 7800 blk. of Kennewick Ave., on Friday, August 17th at 9:42 p.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to force open a window to an apartment, but were unsuccessful. No property was taken.
