Takoma Park Police Seek Stolen Blue Plymouth Voyager Van

The van fled when police attempted to stop it.

The driver of a stolen blue Plymouth Voyager van with Virginia tags fled Takoma Park Police Wednesday around 2 a.m. after police tried to stop the van, Takoma Park Police said.

Police responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle and saw the van parked in the intersection with its lights on.  Based on the high number of stolen vans and the time of morning, an attempt traffic stop was initiated, police said.

The vehicle failed to yield to the officer’s lights and siren and began to flee at a high rate of speed down Sligo Mill Road, speeding through a stop sign at Eastern Avenue and crossing into the District of Columbia, still at a high rate of speed disregarding multiple traffic signs and lights.

The vehicle was last seen by the employee in the 5900 block of Eastern Ave., NE, in the District, at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The investigation continues, police said.
