Takoma Park Police Launch Program For Special Needs Residents

Registration is open now.

Recent weather events, Pepco outages and the urging of Takoma Park resident
Catherine Tunis, led Takoma Park Police Chief Ronald Ricucci to initiate a new program targeted to help residents with special needs, police said.

The program, Caring About Residents Everyday (CARE), will allow residents who need to be checked on the ability register with the Police Department.  The
resident will call Takoma Park Police once each day between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.  If the resident doesn’t call, police will call the resident. If the resident does not answer, we will send a patrol officer to check on their welfare.

The program is starting immediately and residents can contact Cpl. Cynthia Conrad at 301.891.7140 to register.
