Takoma Park Crime Roundup: Stolen Auto in Ward 2, Theft from Auto in Ward 3

Here's all your crime news for the week on August 3 through August 9.

 

The crime log itself is fairly short this week, but there were numerous arrests during this time period.

Ward 1: 

Attempt Stolen Property

7300 block of Baltimore Avenue, on Monday, August 6th at 4:24 p.m.,
officers responded to a theft of a bike in progress. Unknown suspects
took a bicycle from a residential property. The two suspects rode the
bike up Baltimore Avenue. The two suspects jumped off the bike and fled
on foot at Baltimore and New York Avenue.

Ward 2:

Stolen Auto

Unit block of New Hampshire Avenue (service road), on Monday, August
6th, at 12:30 a.m., officers responded for a stolen auto. On August 6,
at 2:45 p.m., the vehicle was located on New York Avenue.

Ward 3:

Theft from Auto

Unit block of Pine Avenue, on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:45 a.m.,
officers responded to a theft from auto.  Unknown suspects entered the
vehicle through an unlocked driver’s side door and stole property.

Wards 4 & 5:

None


Ward 6:

Theft from Auto

1200 block of Holton Lane, on Friday, August 3rd, at 7:00 a.m.,
officers responded to a theft from auto that occurred earlier between
August 2, at 10:30 p.m. and August 3, at 6:30 a.m. Unknown suspects
entered the vehicle by smashing out the passenger side window of the
vehicle.  Property was stolen.

Attempt Theft from Auto

1100 block of Merwood Drive, on August 3rd, at 9:20 a.m., officers
responded to an attempt theft from auto. Sometime between August 2, at
6:30 p.m. and August 3, at 8:30 a.m., unknown suspects entered the
vehicle by breaking the passenger side rear door window. No property
was taken.

Larceny

7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, on Friday, August 3rd, at 7:41
p.m., officers responded for a larceny. Victim was shopping at a
commercial establishment between 7:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. and an unknown
suspect stole property from the victim.

Arrests:

Intersection of Sligo Creek Parkway and New Hampshire Avenue, on
Friday, August 3rd at 11:35 p.m., a male 29 was arrested for possession
of Cocaine and paraphernalia.

1300 block of University Blvd., on Sunday, August 5th at 10:14 p.m., a
male 26  was arrested for an open warrant through Prince George’s
County, Maryland, for theft over $500.

7100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, on Monday, August 6th at 11:00
p.m., a male 50 was arrested for an open warrant through Montgomery
County, Maryland.

Intersection of Tulip Avenue at Holly Avenue, on Tuesday, August 7th at
11:46 p.m., a female 22 was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and
released from the scene.

7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue, on Tuesday, August 7th at 10:31
p.m., a male 32 was arrested for possession of marijuana and
paraphernalia and released from the scene.

6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, on Wednesday, August 8th at 8:48
p.m., a male 32 was arrested for failure to appear and driving without a
license.

1000 block of Kentland Avenue, on Thursday, August 9th at 12:20 a.m., a
male 36 was arrested for disorderly conduct.

1100 block of University Blvd., on Thursday, August 9th at 2:15 a.m., a
male 19 was arrested for failure to appear and destruction of property.

7700 block of Carroll Avenue, on Thursday, August 9th at 2:56 a.m., a
male 33 was arrested for an open warrant through Montgomery County for
possession of paraphernalia.

7700 block of Carroll Avenue, on Thursday, August 9th at 2:56 a.m., a
female 25 was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and released from
the scene.

1300 block of University Blvd., on Thursday, August 9th at 11:15 a.m.,
a male 37 was arrested for trespassing and possession of fraudulent
government identification.
