Takoma Park Arrests, Residential Burglaries, and Car Thefts

These are the crimes and arrests reported in the City of Takoma Park from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, 2012.

 

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Takoma Park Police Department from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, 2012 . Arrests do not imply guilt.

Ward 1:

300 block of Tulip Avenue:
Officers responded to a burglary on Friday, Oct. 26, at 11:08 p.m. Earlier in the day a window apparently had been broken by an unknown suspect. No property was stolen.

Ward 3:
6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue: Police officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier on Friday, Oct. 26. While the victim was pumping gas, two unknown male suspects pulled their vehicle alongside the victim's vehicle, opened the victim’s unlocked vehicle door, and stole her purse. The assailants then fled.

Unit block of Jefferson Avenue: Police officers responded to a burglary in progress on Friday, Oct. 26 at 9:17 a.m. A window was pried open by an unknown suspect(s) to enter the victim’s home. Property was stolen.

Ward 5:

8300 block of Roanoke Avenue: Officers responded to a burglary in progress on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 1:05 a.m. Two men, 21 and 19 years old, and an 18-year-old woman, were arrested for breaking into a vacant apartment.

700 block of Hudson Avenue: Officers responded to a theft Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:15 a.m. A 14-year-old teen was arrested. She was released to a guardian. The theft was under $500.

7600 block of New Hampshire Ave: A male suspect entered a liquor store and took property without paying. Officers responded to the theft on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 12:28 p.m.

7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue: Officers responded to an attempted auto theft on Monday, Oct, 29, at 12:47 a.m. The theft, which occurred earlier that evening, was committed by an unknown suspect(s). They pried the vehicle door open and attempted to punch the vehicle ignition, but were unsuccessful.

Arrests made:

7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue: On Sunday, Oct. 28, at 8:12 a.m., a 25-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Intersection of Kirklynn Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue: On Saturday, Oct. 27, at 12:50 a.m., a 39-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct.

8300 block of Roanoke Avenue: On Friday, Oct. 26, at 11:26 p.m., a
24-year-old woman was arrested for vandalism.

900 block of University Boulevard: On Friday, Oct. 26, at 12:03 a.m., a 39-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
