Takoma Park Arrests, Commercial Burglaries, and Thefts

Takoma Park Police responded to a variety of crimes for the week of Nov. 10.

  • Takoma Park Police responded to the report of a theft from vehicle on the 6600 block of Allegheny Avenue. It’s estimated that the crime occurred between Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 13 at 7 a.m. There was an unknown suspect(s) who entered the unlocked vehicle and stole property. Refer to case number 12055786.
  • Police responded to reports of theft from a vehicle on the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue from a car on Nov. 10, 2012. The crime occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 4:07 a.m. There was an unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole property. Refer to number case number 12055347.
  • Police responded to the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue for reports of a commercial burglary of the Salvation Army on Nov. 13. The crime occurred between Nov. 12 at approximately 8 p.m. and Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. The Unknown suspect(s) made a forced entry into the business by smashing out the front window. Property was taken. Refer to case #12055784.
  • Takoma Park Police responded to an attempted break-in of a vehicle on Nov. 8 at approximately 11:20 a.m. Authorities responded to the area of Second Avenue. After being caught attempting to break in to the vehicle by the victim, the juvenile fled on foot running headed northbound on Second Avenue towards Spring Street. The suspect was stopped near Fitch Avenue and Orchard Avenue after a perimeter of the area was established. An initial investigation revealed the subject in custody was the person police officials were looking for. The juvenile was charged with rogue and vagabond and released to the custody of his parent.
