Takoma Park Arrests, Auto Theft, and Robbery Reported

These are the crimes and arrests reported in the City of Takoma Park from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8, 2012. Crime wasn’t reported in Ward 1 to 3.

 

Ward 4:

100 block. of Ritchie Avenue: Officers responded to an attempted theft on Nov. 5 at 8:32 a.m. There was an attempted robbery and unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal the victim’s bicycle by cutting the lock. It was unsuccessful.

100 block of Lee Avenue:  On Friday, Nov. 2  at 11 p.m. officers responded to an auto theft that occurred. An unknown suspect(s) stole a green 1999 Dodge Caravan when it was left running. The vehicle was left unlocked and unattended in a parking lot.


Ward 5:

8500 block of Flower Avenue: On Friday, Nov. 2 at 2:15 p.m. an 18-year-old woman was arrested for theft under $1000 and released. She stole property from a female victim, according to police.

Ward 6:

7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue:  A 20-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2 a.m. for assaulting an officer while he was being disorderly.

1300 block of University Boulevard: Officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier that day on Saturday at 1:01 a.m. An unknown female suspect removed items from a store and fled without paying.

Arrests:

7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue: A 34-year-old man was
arrested on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5:20 p.m. for drinking alcohol in public. He was released.

6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue: A 43-year-old man on
Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5:20 p.m. for trespassing.

7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue:  A 50-year-old man was arrested on Friday, Nov.  2 at 6:29 p.m. for drinking alcohol in public.
He was released.

7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue: Two 22-year-old men were
arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at noon for having open armed robbery and first-degree assault warrants.

7200 block of Flower Avenue: A 33-year-old man was arrested on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8:58 p.m. for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.

8300 block of Flower Avenue: A 26-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were both arrested for possession of a handgun in a vehicle.
